WOW Druid Character Explained

Buy and Sell text links

Locked in sleep in their barrow lairs for centuries, the Druids awakened to meet the menace of the Burning Legion during its recent invasion. After Archimonde’s defeat, the Druids chose to stay in the waking world and help to rebuild their tattered lands. The Legion’s assault left a dreadful scar on the natural order, and the Druids seek to heal it. The Night Elf Druids were lately joined in the Cenarion Circle by the Tauren, who once again embraced their Druidic heritage.

Druids are the main shapeshifters of World of Warcraft, having a variety of animal forms with different types of abilities that are limited to that specific shape. Druids when in travel form, like characters on mounts, are not able to use any abilities or spells.

In their normal form, druids can cast damage spells and healing spells, as well as various offensive and defensive support spells.

In bear form, the druid acts as a tank. It raises armor, health, and attack power. In this form, a druid benefits from a high amount of stamina, strength, and agility. In cat form, the druid acts as a melee damage dealer. Druids can prowl in this form, which uses the same mechanics as the Rogue’s stealth. In this form druids again gain a high amount of strength and agility. As a moonkin (an owlbear-like creature) the druid has more armor, attack power, chance on hit to regenerate mana and an aura that increases the spell critical strike chance of nearby party members. To gain this form the Druid must have at least thirty-one points in the ‘balance’ talent tree.

The travel form and the aquatic form allow the druid to travel faster by land and sea. In the Burning Crusade expansion, a flight form is trainable at level 68 to allow the druid to fly in Outland. Also, it has been officially stated on WoW forums that druids will be receiving an Epic Flight Form, to be achieved through a series of quests and with the ability to fly at 280% speed. The Tree of Life form increases the healing received for all party members, but slows the Druid. In this form, the Druid can only cast Healing-over-time spells, and these spells are granted a significant mana reduction. To gain this form the Druid must have at least 41 points in the Restoration talent tree. Read the rest of this entry »

Dwarf Review

The stoic dwarves of Ironforge are an ancient race of rugged humanoids that live beneath the snow-capped mountains of Khaz Modan. The Dwarves have always been quick allies with the Humans, and they revel in the prospects of battle and storytelling alike.

In past ages, the Dwarves seldom left the security of their mountain fortresses. Nevertheless, when the call to battle sounded, they rise to defend their friends and allies with unmatched courage and valor. Due to a recent discovery that uncovered fragments of their ancient origins, the Dwarves have undergone a remarkable transformation. The discovery convinced the Dwarves that the mighty Titans created them from stone when the world was young. They feel that their destiny is now to search the world over for more signs and proof of their enchanted heritage and to rediscover the Titans’ hidden legacies. To this end, the Dwarves have sent out their Prospectors to all ends of the world in the hopes of discovering new insight into their shrouded past. These journeys led to Dwarven excavation sites all over the known world, some of which serve as outposts and some of which serve as potential hunting grounds for enemies of the Dwarven race.

Following the First War between the Orcs and humans, the people of Stormwind withdrew to Lordaeron. As a second wave of orcs swarmed through the Dark portal, the dwarves of Ironforge and the Wildhammers of Aerie Peak committed their troops and services to the Alliance. Their gryphon riders turned out an invaluable in the ensuing battles.

Enlisting both the ogres and forest trolls into their fold, the Orcish Horde moved first to conquer the lands of Khaz Modan and the southern lands of Lordaeron. They effortlessly eliminated all opposition. They were only blocked from total conquest by the gates of Ironforge. Try as they might, the orcs were ultimately incapable to breach the ancient doors. As things were looking grim for the Alliance, the Horde began to splinter from within due to the treachery of the warlock Gul’dan. Seeing the weakness, the commanders of the Alliance moved in for the kill. At the final battle on the slopes of Blackrock Mountain, the powerful armies of the savage Horde were at last defeated in a dreadful and bloody rout. When the war ended, many of the members of the Alliance separated, but the Dwarves of Ironforge pledged an eternal debt of honor to them for liberating Khaz Modan from the Horde’s control. Gnomes Explored

The first known point in their history is when they served in the Second War aboard flying machines and submarines. After the Second War, the Gnomes taught the Dwarves to build gyrocopters and firearms. The Gnomes served the Alliance well during the Second War, but oddly, they withheld to send any personnel to help their allies throughout the Burning Legion’s invasion in the Third War. Though their inventions assisted to turn the tables against the Legion, the Dwarves and Humans were startled by the Gnomes’ decision to withhold their courageous troops and pilots. Eventually it became known that during the outbreak of the Third War, a swarm of Troggs had attacked the city of Gnomeregan and the Gnomes were struggling to survive.

The conflict for Gnomeregan lasted throughout most of the Third War until the High Tinker of Gnomeregan, Gelbin Mekkatorque, was persuaded by his chief advisor, Mekgineer Sicco Thermaplugg, to use the radiation generated by many gnome machines against the Troggs by way of pumping the fumes through the air vents. Unluckily, many Gnomes were trapped in the city and killed or destroyed by this scheme, eliminating nearly half of the Gnomish race and turning almost all of the survivors who had remained in the city into crazed lepers. The weapon had little effect on the Troggs, who simply absorbed the radiation, becoming even more dangerous. Thermaplugg was revealed to have gone insane and had planned this all along in a power-mad bid to rule all of Gnomeregan, and according to the Warcraft lore it’s said that Thermaplugg had the aid of the troggs.

The ragged Gnomes that made it escaped to the safety of the Dwarven stronghold of Ironforge, where they try to rebuild their civilization. There, the High Tinker started a plan to construct a giant tram between Ironforge and the city Stormwind. This tram ran through an underground river called the Deeprun, and adopted that name. It was completed three years after the defeat of the Burning Legion on Kalimdor. Thermaplugg’s betrayal and the pain of the Gnomes weighs heavily upon Mekkatorque’s shoulders. World of Warcraft Auction House Tips

Buy and Sell text links

The Auction House in World of Warcraft is one of the best places to make a lot of gold. Unfortunately, many players do not know how to properly use the Auction House to their advantage. Check out these tips from Valkor’s Gold Making Guide for improving your Auction House returns

1 – Always set a buyout – Think of the Auction House like Ebay. You know how you can use the Buy it Now feature on Ebay to buy something immediatly? The buyout feature in the Auction House works the same way. The main reason for setting a buyout price is that it encourages someone to purchase now instead of waiting for their bid to end. This reduces relisting fees and helps you sell items quicker.

2 – Buyout Price Undercutting – a sneaky trick, but completely legit. Before listing your item, check to see what the other buyout prices are set to for the same item. As long as they aren’t totally out of whack, set your buyout price just a little lower. This will ensure your item sells faster because a) you have a buyout and b) it’s the lowest one available. If someone wants your item now, they can get it and save gold too! What’s not to like about that deal

3 – Don’t use Round numbers for starting bids – Have you noticed that when the Auction House assigns a default value to your item that it’s never 25 gold, but something like 24 gold and 31 silver? Setting your starting bid to something similar makes buyers think the Auction House valued the item at that level and it’s really worth it. Read the rest of this entry »
