I have always believed that we can have as much fun in the dark as we have with the lights on. All we have to do is just use our creativity and this boring blackout can result in a fun night. Mentioned below are some scary games to play in the dark with anyone who is sport.

The Ouija Board
This game is a classic. It has been around for ages and is still one of the most popular scary games to play, especially during a blackout. Playing the Ouija Board is pretty simple – you begin by asking a question and wait for the answer from the scary oracle. The players sit around the board and place their fingers gently on the message indicator, and one player asks a question. All the players who are playing have to concentrate very hard on the question. Closing your eyes while concentrating is a must and even makes it more spooky. Now, wait for the indicator to move. The indicator stops and your answer is revealed through its message window. Bring on your scary questions to Ouija board.

Simpsons Tree House of Horror Monopoly
The Simpsons Tree House of Horror Monopoly is a very popular and scary board game for kids. To play this game, players first have to purchase scary themed properties from the Simpsons Scary Tree House. It is your good old-fashioned monopoly game with a Simpsons background. The game features the very popular custom tree house of Horror illustrations and 6 glow-in-the-dark tokens to add a new dimension of fun to this game. The biggest advantage of this game is that it is time-consuming, which usually means less chance of getting bugged.

Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board
This scary game gives me the creeps. It starts with players laying their hands slightly under the volunteer who is lying on the floor. All the players gather around the volunteer and one of them starts narrating a scary tale about the volunteer’s life and his/her unfortunate and scary death. Once the story is complete, the participants surround the volunteer’s body and chant loudly “Light as a feather, stiff as a board” and lift the volunteer’s body off the ground. The gist of the game is that the volunteer has to feel that haunting spirits are assisting in the lifting. This is one of the best scary games to play in the dark with friends.

Bloody Mary
I am not referring to the famous cocktail. This Bloody Mary is actually a scary game which is generally avoided by many kids as the game has an urban legend attached to it. To play this game, you go into a dark room with a mirror and a candle. Go and stand in front of the mirror and chant “Bloody Mary” 3 times. The legend says that the ghastly spirit of Bloody Mary will appear and attack you. There are many other theories related with this game and this game is also given as a dare to many people. To make it more spooky, tell the volunteer to go and chant Bloody Mary 5 to 10 times. Trust me, he/she is going to have goose bumps. Bloody Mary is a very popular sleepover game among girls.

Hide and Seek
Almost everyone is familiar with this game. One player counts till ten, while others go and hide in places where they can’t be found. Normally Hide and Seek is played in the outdoors but this time it is inside and with darkness adding an element of thrill to the game. To make the environment more spooky, players can make scary voices and try to confuse the seeker. Read the rest of this entry »

In this article, we are simply providing you with information that will tell you which games are the popular and being played online. So let’s get to these games and see what’s in store for you out there.

Kindergarten
In this game, you get to manage a kindergarten and that means, you will take care of lots of babies. At first, the game is simple and has only one child to take care of. As you progress in the game and get better, more kids will come to the kindergarten and you’ll have to handle them all. Depending on how good you are, you will be awarded money so that you can use it to do some upgrading inside and outside the kindergarten. Then, more kids will be brought in and your kindergarten will grow bigger.

Babysitting Mania
This is a free online game that can be played by teenage girls. In this game, you have to clean the house and show your babysitting skills. You will take care of the children, clean them, plan birthday parties, host them as well, and after that is over, you need to put the kids in bed before the parents can show up. The game is timed so you need to work fast and make sure that the “chaos meter” doesn’t get out of control. Because if the chaos meter doesn’t come down to normal, the kids won’t settle down or even sleep. Even though this is a free game, certain websites require you to download the game for a price and then you can play it.

Baby Nursery
Have you ever babysat someone? If yes, then this game is somewhat similar. First you get a baby to take care of. You will have feed the baby, change diapers, and make sure the baby is happy. Then as you progress, another baby will join the nursery and you will have to juggle between them both. As the game goes on, more babies will come in.

Nanny Mania
Similar to Babysitting Mania, in Nanny Mania, you have to manage a household. Here, you need to think like a stay-at-home mom and try to take care of a house on your own. Clean for everyone in the house, cook for them, and do laundry. This game isn’t like other baby games for teenagers where you take care of only kids because here, you will have more duties and that too finish different tasks in a particular time frame. How to Play Carrom Board Game?

Among the two sets of colored discs – white and black, each side is supposed to choose a particular set. This is generally decided by ‘calling the carrom-men’ method, wherein the referee hides a white and a black disc in either hands and the player is supposed to identify in which hand the white disc is, or simply a coin toss. The person who wins the toss starts the game.

After choosing a particular set of colored discs, the players are supposed to pocket all the discs of their set, as well as the queen, using the striker. The striker, as its name suggests, is used to strike the discs, to propel them into the pockets at the four corners of the carrom board. The striker can only be moved by flicking it with fingers. Every time the player pockets a disc from his own set, he gets another chance, until he is not able to pocket any more discs. If he pockets a disc belonging to the opponent, he automatically loses a chance, and the opponent takes over.

According to the standard carrom board game rules, constituted by International Carrom Federation (ICF), the player has to pocket all his discs as well as the queen. On doing this, he either wins the particular board or earns some points and marches towards victory. The queen, though requires a ‘cover’, which means an additional disc belonging to his own set has to be pocketed either simultaneously with the queen, or immediately after the queen. This invariably means that the queen has to be pocketed before the last disc belonging to his own set. If, even by mistake, the player pockets the last disc of his set before taking the queen, he forfeits the board or the points.

Negative Effects of Video Games on Children

Buy and Sell text links

Although video games have certain advantages, studies have shown some negative effects of video games on children. Various research studies have shown a relation between aggressive behavior and playing video games that have violence in them. Indulging in games that have a lot of shooting and killing is said to increase the emotion of anger in children, leading to aggressive behavior in real life. Further, as their act of violence is rewarded in the world of gaming, they may become motivated to repeat it in real life. Video games hook the children to their consoles as repetitive playing and winning boosts their morale. They start feeling that shooting and killing are normal and do not even feel guilty about beating or clobbering siblings or peers.

There is also said to be a direct correlation between poor academic performance and playing video games. Studies have shown that some children spend a lot of time playing video games, thus ignoring their studies, resulting in poor scores at school.

Video games also have negative effects on the physical health of children. Sitting for hours before the video game consoles can increase the risk of obesity, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscular diseases and as well as skeletal and postural disorders in kids. Other more severe health effects of video games include increased heart rate and high blood pressure.

To decrease the negative effects of gaming on children, parental control is very essential. Parents should keep a close eye on the sort of games their children play. When buying games for kids, parents should check the age limit mentioned on the cover. They should also avoid buying games that have too much violence in them. The most important thing that parents must observe is the amount of time their children spend in front of the video game consoles. They should not allow their kids to spend more than two hours in gaming.

Video games are definitely fun and entertaining and are also good for relieving tension. However too much indulgence can lead to addiction to video games which can have physical as well as psychological effects on children.
